Academic support services

The Institute for Academic Development provides University level support for teaching, learning and researcher development; through leadership, innovation, collaboration and direct provision that benefits students, staff and the University’s international reputation. The IAD offers study development workshops, self-study learning resources, and people you can talk to, to help you succeed in your studies.

The University of Edinburgh Doctoral College is a coordinating structure for all postgraduate researchers, supervisors and relevant staff at the university, designed to enhance and support the postgraduate student experience.

The Doctoral College is a central structure at Edinburgh, designed to help coordinate and highlight training, support, and opportunities for all postgraduate researchers across the institution.

There is a short welcome talk from the University of Edinburgh Doctoral College open to all new postgraduate researchers.

Join us to hear from the Doctoral College leaders and representatives from across the University about how the Doctoral College can help you to make the most of your time at Edinburgh.
